The Motivation and Inspiration Behind Bananas (2024)
So, back in 2021, I suddenly felt this strong urge to switch things up. It was a time of spiritual growth for me. I was really diving into exploring different parts of myself, especially the vibes I was putting out with my feminine and masculine sides. I came to the realization that I wanted to get to know and embrace the softer, more feminine aspects of who I am. It was like, who even is this girl? 😄 And what better way to connect with her than through painting, am I right?
Abstract Acrylics vs. Watercolors, Bananas (2024)
Let’s fast forward a bit - for like over ten years, I was all about creating cool textured abstract art, but I didn't stick to just that. I also dabbled in scapes and got inspired by all sorts of things. I was all about diving into a world of colors and textures. And let's be real, I'm not here to throw fancy art lingo at you, haha. I'm just a girl on a journey, trying to figure things out. But hey, who isn't, right? Painting this kind of art was super personal for me, a way to express emotions that I couldn't quite put into words or writing - well, at least not until now! The techniques were pretty intense and bold. That's when I realized it was time to shake things up and try something new. And get this, when I made the switch, I had this flashback to my high school days when I used to work with watercolors. Talk about coming full circle, pretty neat, huh? I'll be honest, getting back into watercolors was a bit of a challenge at first. It felt a bit rusty, and I had to brush up on my skills and come up with new ideas to really connect and develop my own style.
Concept of Bananas was Born
Story-Time,
So, picture this - one fine morning, I wake up with a brilliant idea: "Let's sharpen those observation skills, Pammie!" And you know what gets me going? (now, now, keep it PG folks!!!! wink, chuckles.) FRUIT! So, I thought, why not turn my breakfast into a masterpiece – behold, the majestic bananas! (laughs, grin.) How about you? What floats your boat? Spill the beans below, I'm all ears! That day, I dove into sketching and painting those bananas, relishing every stroke. It was a lesson in zen, riding the artistic wave, and letting watercolors do their funky dance with shades of sunshine yellows, chocolate browns, and leafy greens. Slow and steady wins the race, delicate brushstrokes, and a sprinkle of grace – that's one of the keys to making art truly sing. It's a wild ride of growth and discovery, but hey, art is like a magical hug for the soul! If you have never dabbled in art or have been too timid to try, I encourage you to give it whirl! (smile.)
Oh, and guess what? I've got a snazzy time-lapse video of the whole banana bonanza for your viewing pleasure! Peep it down below!
